Awesome cathedral, St Paul’s in London. Framed to bring the new (2010) to the old (Wren was commissioned in 1668 ish). When I was a wee lad, my dad had books of the history of the Second World War, in which was a classic photo of St Paul’s surrounded by burning buildings. I think the image would have been by Herbert Mason and is known as ‘St Paul’s Survives’, December 29th 1940. Poignantly, appropriately, the monument to the firefighters of the London Blitz, is close by.
