This is one from last week, as the previous named storm passed through. It’s a view I never tire of, and actually I went back for this image. These horses are often here in the field and are relatively relaxed about a lone chatty photographer telling them how beautiful they are. Generally they look at me once or twice, and then go back to the hay. There’s a third beautiful horse, just out of the photo, these two are higher in the pecking order and poor old horse three has to wait her turn while the others get the best bits.
I think the ‘print’ of the image is almost complete. By this I mean I’ve nearly finished the minor adjustments needed to bring the out of camera image closer to how I visualised the scene, what I went back for. It’s just a little bright under the right hand horse, and while I think the horizon is level (it was, in camera, on the tripod) it looks slightly off in the image. There’s a little too much space on the right hand side, to the right of the horse’s rear. Work in progress then.
